Exploring the Depths of Intelligence: Beyond Human Understanding

Chapter 1: The Nature of Intelligence
Evaluating the intelligence of those who use language against our own is a misguided notion. This idea is flawed because it diverges from the true essence of intelligence.
If we were to genuinely embrace intelligence again—free from the constraints of mere cleverness—we would recognize that intelligence is a profound gift rooted in the origins of existence. Additionally, we would understand that we are not alone in possessing this gift.
The elements—energy, fire, air, earth, and water—also embody intelligence. These elements do not possess brains, nor have they attended school, yet they exhibit a form of intelligence far superior to that of language users. They emerged from cosmic phenomena that we scarcely comprehend. The energy existed before the Big Bang—indeed, it instigated it. The other four elements have been present since the formation of Earth, approximately 4.65 billion years ago, and in fact, contributed to its creation. All five elements are indestructible, merely transforming into various forms for reasons known only to themselves. They possess an impeccable memory, always returning to their essence.
They have brought forth cells, plants, animals, and even the brains and words of the word-users—namely, you, me, and the nearly 9 billion other word-users on our planet.
The CELLS, devoid of brains and formal education, crafted our being, including our brains.
The PLANTS, lacking brains and any formal schooling, can predict weather patterns, recognize seasonal changes, and understand celestial cycles. They comprehend the Fibonacci sequence and possess knowledge that language users can only aspire to grasp.
The ANIMALS can be categorized into two groups: the wordy and the wordless. The wordy are us—language users, the only species that constructs schools to utilize words. In contrast, the wordless comprise the vast majority of animal species that have never attended school yet possess wisdom that surpasses our own.
Section 1.1: A Fresh Perspective on Intelligence
To attain true intelligence, we should measure ourselves not against each other, but against the elemental forces of energy, fire, air, earth, and water. Why? Because these elements have dominated Earth’s existence for an astonishing 99.9997% of its history, while we, the wordy, have only existed for a mere 0.0003%.
If intelligence relates to the ability to adapt, then without question, the intelligence exhibited by these elements vastly exceeds our own.
Subsection 1.1.1: Rethinking Our Comparisons
Section 1.2: The Infinite Yardstick
To establish a fair comparison between our wordy intelligence and the wordless wisdom of the elements, we first need to define the length of an infinite yardstick.
Even with the advent of artificial intelligence, I remain skeptical that we can fully grasp the concept of infinity.
What are your thoughts on this? I would be eager to hear your perspective. Please share your insights in the comments below or reach out via email at [email protected].
