To be completely honest, writing isn't my strongest skill. My background is in photography, and I find joy in sharing my stories, experiences, and insights with others. My focus leans more towards the artistic side rather than perfect grammar or syntax. Despite this, I have ventured into website creation, blog writing, and even briefly published a photography magazine.
I take pleasure in expressing myself while showcasing captivating photography and sharing personal reflections about my work and that of others. The opportunity to monetize my thoughts is merely an added bonus. Joining Medium seemed like a promising avenue! Even if the earnings are minimal, the chance to connect with like-minded individuals and learn from fellow writers on the platform excites me.
In my endeavor to monetize my articles, I explored the option of using the paywall feature. To my surprise, in May, I noticed a deposit of $0.01 in my Medium account! This came from my article discussing how AI impacts photography, which was the first piece I had published in some time, dated May 29.
Given that I only began my writing activities at the tail end of May, I wasn't expecting any earnings at all. However, that single penny was far more than I anticipated! I had assumed there was a minimum payout threshold, but upon receiving the deposit and conducting a quick search, I discovered otherwise. This was a refreshing realization! I remember my early days with AdSense, where reaching the $100 payout threshold felt like an eternity, albeit rewarding once achieved.
This recounts my experience on Medium so far! In May 2024, I earned my first penny, and I'm eager to increase that tenfold in June as I continue my writing journey on Medium. I'll share more about my progress soon.
