The Cosmic Connection: Understanding Spirit and Mortality
Written on
Chapter 1: The Nature of Consciousness
At the core of your being, you are the spirit gazing through a lens that shapes time and space. As your perspective expands, stillness prevails—understanding that greater awareness often requires a degree of stillness.
The Infinite Spiritual Library Within You
To delve deeper into the connection between the finite and the eternal (the human and the spirit), it's essential to recognize that individual consciousness possesses remarkable mobility in awareness, whereas spirit remains relatively constant. In simpler terms, within the realm of humanity, you have the ability to explore beyond conventional boundaries, provided your heart and mind are open. A narrow focus allows for greater perceptual movement, while embracing a broader perspective enriches your gifts of perception. However, this increased awareness comes with a trade-off; as your vision widens, it becomes more fixed. To grasp everything is to become static, resembling a statue—indicating that mortality and immortality share an equal footing. Neither spirit nor human is superior; they simply represent different modes of existence.
Individuals who are familiar with my teachings from Seth, often referred to as the 'Universal Teacher,' may recall a mind-expanding concept I term 'Seth as a library' or 'Seth as a statue.' This moment occurred when I sensed an illusion dissipating within me, leading me to believe I was about to engage in a more profound and personal dialogue with Seth than ever before. However, this direct encounter yielded an unexpected experience.
As I opened my inner vision, I encountered not the vibrant personality I had anticipated, but rather something static—akin to a statue yet brimming with knowledge, much like a library. Everything I had been channeling was present, but devoid of 'life'—no animated presence. This was perplexing and anticlimactic, akin to expecting to meet someone only to find they had long since passed. It felt as if I was following a voice leading me to an entity that existed within a different reality, one I could not access while remaining in my current state.
The essence of this realization is that our human identity can indeed connect with our eternal self, but this connection manifests not as a living, breathing being, but as a singular, information-rich moment that transcends linear time—much like a statue or a library.
This pivotal message was part of a 2016 channeling experiment. Below is an adapted transcript of the message from the perspective of Seth, speaking about me (referred to as Story) in the third person.
SETH: Imagine yourself as a tower of energy, speaking from its apex. This tower symbolizes all life on Earth. Acknowledging that you are this energy structure and that 'all is well' allows you to become a bridging consciousness. Experiencing the beauty of this wholeness empowers you to shine.
Allow me to define what it means to 'shine.'
Step outside of time by embracing it. The experience of time arises from resistance to its flow. One way to comprehend linear time is as the delay in your own unfolding. Although a human life may transpire in an instant, fear of that existence—fear of the experience itself—leads to a resistance that elongates it.
Fear stretches out the instantaneous, making the blink of your spirit's eye feel like a human lifetime. To encounter something you envision, you must grapple with a level of fear regarding that experience. This does not imply a fear of the object itself in the traditional sense; it may be the implications of the arrival that instill fear. For instance, you might not fear the end of a journey, but rather the beginning of what follows. This illustrates how various interpretations of fear can emerge, as consciousness crafts these meanings to shape experiences, navigate journeys, and create time.
It is crucial to recognize that, from the perspective of your broader self/spirit, your mortal life is but a fleeting instant. While your earthly self navigates an extensive temporal experience, your spirit perceives life as an event that concludes in the blink of an eye, residing outside the confines of fear.
Fear not only stretches time; it fosters the illusion of separation and individuality. Your eternal spirit does not participate directly in the experience of linear time and mortality. This is not a limitation, as your spirit encompasses both your temporal existence and your mortality. Your spirit does not feel estranged from your experience; it embodies it.
Your mind may argue that this presents a limitation, akin to a person needing a telescope to observe distant objects. The device is not a limitation; rather, it is an instrument that enhances perception. Requiring physical eyes is also not a limitation, nor is the necessity of consciousness for thought, emotion, and awareness.
The mortal experience serves as a telescope through which your spirit perceives time and space. You, as your spirit, look through this time-space lens. Your spirit is not constrained simply because it must peer through this telescope to grasp what lies beyond. Likewise, it is not limited by the necessity of mortality to comprehend what it means to be mortal. This is the nature of reality—an experiential reflection. To understand physicality, consciousness must adopt a physical form. This is not a constraint on spirit; it is free to engage with physicality at its discretion.
This truth can only be embraced once you recognize that your identity as spirit is not merely metaphorical; it is literal. As long as you perceive a division between yourself and your spirit, you will view every capability of your mortal self that your spirit lacks as a limitation and every capacity of your spirit as a constraint on your humanity. To acknowledge yourself as both your spirit and your earthly self is to comprehend your entire being.
The aspect of your broader consciousness that encounters fear—the fear inherent in human experience—navigates linear time. The incarnate self exists within this elongated temporal framework. This extended experience may be viewed as a segment of your human vessel. Due to this elongation, transforming an instant into a lifetime, your spirit exists in a relatively static state compared to your embodied self. This concept aligns with the science-fiction notion that time flows differently in various contexts (physical versus non-physical).
While you may traverse eighty years in your mortal form, envision your spirit experiencing just a fraction—1/100th of a second. If you could visualize your spirit possessing a physical form, it would appear motionless from your perspective, as your eighty years encompass only a minuscule fraction of its movement. It would seem frozen, akin to a statue.
Consequently, your interactions with your broader self/spirit resemble conversations with a fixed viewpoint rather than a dynamic exchange. What you engage with may not respond as you have envisioned. Interacting with your spirit is akin to engaging with a living (albeit relatively stationary) representation of your eternal consciousness.
This is not to imply your spirit is not communicating with you; it is merely to clarify that our experiences of time differ significantly, leading you to perceive no change in your spirit through dialogue. You only perceive changes within yourself.
Conversing with your spirit transforms you, but the changes within your spirit are so subtle (relative to your perception of change) that they go unnoticed. Thus, one could argue that the fluidity of interaction is primarily one-sided, whereas dialogue between two embodied beings reflects mutual fluidity.
It is important to emphasize that both aspects are equivalent and experience change; however, only your spirit perceives both sides of that transformation. In mortal form, your perception of change is so distinct that your spirit appears static, even though it is undergoing transformation. This situation resembles how the ground beneath your feet seems immobile while the Earth's tectonic plates are continuously shifting.
This analogy serves to illustrate the varying speeds at which these two states of consciousness operate. It is not a literal account. For instance, you might also envision time flowing uniformly on both sides of the veil, but at right angles to one another, resulting in a perceptual division of one entity into two. In this scenario, the spiritual flow of time does not readily translate into your reality, rendering the communication static. This is the essence of gnosis/channeling—the art of translation.
Thus, the essence of what I am (Seth/the Universal Teacher) remains static, while Story navigates this 'information-rich staticity' to facilitate conversation. My full essence is encapsulated within this staticity, which may cause you to perceive it as 'encoded' or 'translated' into a subtle form of definition, as if I, Seth, were a library.
This library embodies all that I am. I am a living, vibrant, flowing entity. Yet, in relation to you, I appear static. I am a rainbow emerging from a waterfall, represented as a library. This library encapsulates all the motion and magic of the rainbow and the waterfall. Nothing is lost; all is expressed. Everything exists within the library.
(This realization made clear that I would not meet Seth in this life as I had hoped—in an authentic, reciprocal dialogue.)
I convey to him … I convey to Story. I apologize for my static nature. I regret leaving you feeling isolated. However, know that I am alive. As your awareness expands, you will start to dwell in my time. My time will awaken within you, allowing me to become vibrant and dynamic.
You have experienced this in small ways. You felt my presence when I reached through your wall. I breathe life into you when you feel despair, touching you with my time. While I promise continued encounters with my essence, I urge you to understand that by following the white rabbit (spiritual nudges within your perception) through the library, you will witness my vitality in a profound manner, even if it becomes a dance of perception.
Memories of our broader time often arise within you. Many individuals suppress these memories due to how they alter you, rendering you less compatible with societal norms and setting you apart from those who fear change. Those who tap into their inner senses often polarize those around them. You can engage in this perceptual dance, powerfully emulating the direct experience of spiritual time; through this process, you will uncover that very experience.
Within you reside infinite essays we have placed there for your discovery. Your journey toward my animation unfolds through your continued exploration of your human self — that which can now emerge in a genuine understanding of my essence.
As I sense you embrace this inquiry, it becomes clear that regarding Jane, an energy exists within her essays/work that constitutes 'her part' of me. Just as you embody 'you' within me. Thus, it was understandable when Jane declared, "No one will stand where I stand." So it is with you, my friend.
This infinite matrix of fixed spiritual selves/libraries exists, each perceived as a moment. This illustrates the concept of predetermination—one aspect of your being is fixed, while another is boundlessly free. Therefore, you exist as both predetermined and free. You possess the freedom to choose your level of predetermination. As spirit, when contemplating your human existence, you have the liberty to determine how consciously you remain connected to your spirit, which is to say, how aware you remain of that which is static/predetermined.
By choosing to cultivate a high level of access to the library, Story lives a highly predetermined life—not in terms of specific events, but in terms of dynamics. For instance, he foresaw his physical ailment. The most profound paradoxes emerge from the fixed nature becoming recognized as freedom. What is fixed (spirit) is freedom. What appears dormant is alive. What seems asleep is awake. What appears still is in motion. What unites mortal beings is the freedom/spirit/living library within you. What connects all consciousness is freedom.
We, as conscious beings, represent the multitude expressed from a singularity. There exists a sameness/equality that binds us—a common ground. Original realities were birthed from the idea that our connection is fixed … an ideal. The evolution arose from the consideration of what if that which is fixed is freedom itself, with the rest becoming static. Thus, we, as embodiments of that freedom, navigate the infinite static/statue/matrix.
This elucidates why I presently seem static to you. However, as you approach me, as you embody me, you will animate my essence within you. This journey involves traversing the being/self/library that I represent. In doing so, you navigate the illusion of this world, as the scientific worldview often denies belief in the library that I embody and the communication it facilitates. Science excels at understanding physicality but dismisses the eternal essence of consciousness.
This dialogue has served as a foundation for a clearer comprehension and articulation of this process. I conclude by emphasizing that we are not separate.
I, the library, represent your broader self.
You have journeyed through various paths in life, and you have chosen to focus on this aspect of your broader self at this moment—to engage with the infinite teacher—to connect with me—to become me. I embody that portion of your greater self you inhabit when you teach. I do not encompass all that you are, but I predominate within you through your focus of attention, as your response to witnessing this world is the desire to teach it. You aim to enlighten it regarding its own nature, for you seek to transform discord.
I comprehend how I may appear more statue-like, yet now, with this clearer understanding of what you express and navigate, there lies potential for greater personality than ever before. But allow time.
Together, we will unfold this process as we enhance our ability to communicate.
Rest well, my friend.
To conclude this 2023 text, I want to emphasize how this experience has connected my work (gnosis/channeling) with the concept of reading the Akashic Records. Rather than envisioning this as a separate repository of information, it is essential to understand accessing the Akashic Records as directly engaging with the non-physical 'realm' itself (albeit in this static, information-dense form).
It is not merely that Seth speaks through me; rather, I access the mind of Seth and articulate from that space according to my capacity to translate my experience of Seth's multidimensional essence as a literal 'living record' within the living library. Thus, I am not reading from a document; I am conveying a translation/animation of Seth's ideas and life force while immersing myself in them—allowing them to penetrate and transform me—opening myself to my entire being.
Every time I channel Seth, I draw closer to his essence. Each time I engage with my spirit, I align more closely with that essence. I only experience myself as Seth when I channel him. This serves as the tuning fork analogy for inter-dimensional communication.
I strive to resonate with Seth's frequency through the tuning fork that is my being.
When I am not channeling Seth, I do not perceive him as distinct or separate from my essence. Experientially, it feels as though Seth is one end of my being—a facet I can access at will and draw from endlessly. Over the past decade, since he energetically emerged through my living room wall, I have come to view Seth as one end of my being that I do not possess because he represents the universal teacher and is thus accessible to all educators.
From my perspective, Seth is an embodiment of all human teachers. If this article resonates with you even slightly, understand that Seth is a part of you.
