Embrace Your True Self and Pursue Your Dreams Fearlessly

Chapter 1: The Journey of Self-Discovery
From a young age, I was certain about my aspirations. I envisioned myself as a writer and speaker, and I took immediate steps to transform that vision into reality.
When reflecting on the youthful dreams we hold, I liken them to a sturdy branch we cling to desperately when faced with the abyss below. In moments of uncertainty, when someone threatens to sever that connection, we grasp even tighter, cherishing every fleeting second as if it were an eternity.
It’s crucial to keep your dreams close, especially from those who may not uplift you. Often, you’ll find that nurturing your aspirations requires a degree of secrecy. Living out your dreams is far more fulfilling than merely discussing them.
My childhood friends from the Mediterranean can surely relate to my experience. For years, they have witnessed my knack for engaging audiences with my talks. Across various countries, I have consistently delved into themes such as the meaning of existence, spirituality, politics, the economy, love, fear, and the intricacies of human nature.
Throughout my life, I have often felt like a pretender. Whether in high school or college, I wore the mask of a hypocrite, pursuing my dreams against all odds. My commitment to my aspirations has remained unwavering; I would sacrifice everything to uphold them. My pursuit of philosophy was solely to enhance my abilities as a writer and speaker. Even during my travels, I engaged with the world primarily as a means to inform my writing.
Despite never attaining the status of a recognized academic, I continue my work with discipline, rising each day to learn, reflect, and express my thoughts.
As I enter my forties, I feel I have successfully realized my dreams. I’ve penned several books, with six published, and contributed numerous articles. I’ve delivered countless talks. Ultimately, what matters isn’t the quantity but the impact. If even one person has found value in my words, then I consider it a success. In truth, I know I have reached more than one individual. Thus, I feel accomplished.
I share this not out of pride, but rather to highlight that I exist outside conventional societal frameworks. I don't resonate with any particular school of thought—political, religious, or otherwise. Yet, I engage with these systems in my own way, like a small ant carrying its load or a mosquito seeking nourishment.
Younger generations with aspirations, listen closely: Pursue your dreams and embrace your talents! Do so quietly and without fear of discouragement. Surround yourself with those who value you for who you are. If you find yourself alone, look in the mirror each day and vow never to surrender.
The world is in need of individuals like you—those who dare to spread their wings and fly. Failure is merely a construct of the mind and society; it consists of lessons learned. Detractors will always be present, but don’t seek their approval. Strive to become the best version of yourself. A tree laden with bitter fruit is still alive, just as a snake that instills fear is simply thriving. An eagle, soaring high above, never worries about its potential fall; it simply embraces its strength and freedom.
Become who you are! Be true to yourself, and do it without delay!
