Chapter 1: The Writing Journey
Writing has been a passion of mine for nearly four years, and I find immense joy in it. During breaks from my 9-to-5 job, I seize the opportunity to write more frequently. This time off has allowed me to publish articles inspired by my journal entries. While this method has proven effective, I'm seeking fresh ideas as the process becomes increasingly challenging. It's time for some introspection—what's happening?
Journaling is a crucial part of my life; it serves as an emotional outlet for me. I believe that genuine change can't be forced. Therefore, my approach to growth revolves around enhancing my understanding of my emotions rather than trying to impose change. This tactic has been instrumental in overcoming my smoking addiction.
Although my journal brims with ideas, translating them into compelling stories is proving to be a tough task. It's disheartening since I want to make the most of my limited time away from my corporate role. I've tried to maintain momentum in my writing, but I've avoided placing excessive pressure on myself. If I possess the skills, why does producing a daily story feel so exhausting?
How This Affects Me
Recently, I haven’t felt proud of what I’ve penned down. Writing has started to feel like a chore, accompanied by a shadow of self-doubt. Questions swirl in my mind: Am I good enough? Do I truly wish to pursue this? Will I ever achieve recognition? When will I experience a breakthrough? How will I sustain this momentum once I return to my corporate job, which will take precedence?
What’s Next?
With over 15 years of experience as a software developer, six years as a men's rights advocate, and serving as a first-level counselor for an NGO, I've penned numerous articles on both software development and men's rights. However, in my haste to share stories from my journal, I've strayed from these two subjects. Writing about my software experience comes easily to me, both in quantity and quality, though it’s less enjoyable compared to topics centered on self-awareness and self-improvement. Perhaps it’s time for a refreshing change.
It might be beneficial to redirect my focus toward software development until I gather enough substantial material from my journaling for quality writing.

My guiding principle for success has always been to explore my inner self, peeling back layers one at a time. While drafting this article, I discovered another layer of insight—I’ve perhaps pushed my journaling experiment too far.

It’s vital to practice discipline and patience, and it’s perfectly acceptable to take breaks and explore different avenues. I must remind myself that the journey holds more significance than the destination, and the process outweighs the final product.
