The Apple Watch Dilemma: Love, Technology, and Health Concerns

Chapter 1: The Gift of Technology
Initially, I was skeptical about the surge of fitness devices that have flooded the market in recent years. I struggled to find any research indicating their safety, leading me to cautiously steer clear of them. However, a year ago, I was gifted an Apple Watch. Perhaps due to the nature of the gift and the notion that "what you don't know can't hurt you," I decided to wear it without seeking any information on its possible health implications. To my surprise, I truly enjoy my Apple Watch! The plethora of applications available has become part of my daily routine, and I've eagerly shared my excitement about this new gadget with many friends and family.
This morning, I tuned into a talk by Sayer Ji, founder of GreenMeInfo.com, which offers science-based insights on natural healing.
He delivered a compelling discussion on the concept of the new biology, emphasizing that we are essentially electromagnetic beings with vast amounts of potential energy at our disposal. For instance, the electrical field strength of our mitochondria can reach up to 30 million volts. With approximately 4,000 to 5,000 mitochondria per neuron—and billions of neurons in the human body—we possess an almost limitless supply of energy. It’s our body's electromagnetism that influences biochemistry.
Sayer Ji also pointed out that electromagnetic fields (EMFs) from our devices have a direct impact on our health. Notably, 5G waves are absorbed by water, and since our bodies are roughly 99% water, this poses a significant concern. Low-dose radiation can lead to subtle alterations in DNA. The Apple Watch, for example, emits EMFs at a level of 3.1, according to the Cornet Electrosmog meter, while the Building Biology guidelines deem anything above 1.0 as unsafe. Furthermore, the 2.45 Gigahertz output from Wi-Fi operates in the same frequency range as microwave ovens, which can heat food in mere seconds. One must wonder what effects this wireless technology has on our bodies.
Larry Desjardin from the EDN network discusses the adverse effects of electromagnetic radiation in his article from April 24, 2019, explaining how mmWave frequencies penetrate the body via sweat glands, affecting bacteria and cells. DNA damage linked to these frequencies is a known precursor to cancer.
As we strive for scientific truth regarding new products, it's troubling that companies aren't required to disclose negative findings. An industry can conduct numerous studies, yet only publish those that yield favorable peer-reviewed results. As Sayer Ji aptly states, “Eminence-based science instead of evidence-based science,” highlighting how proclamations often take precedence over actual scientific evidence.
The realm of 5G technology, as it stands, has not been thoroughly examined. Companies like Elon Musk's have launched 420 satellites into low Earth orbit, with plans for a total of 12,000 by 2020. Amazon aims to send up an additional 3,000 satellites, all emitting radiation, which will inevitably impact every living organism on our planet.
In my lifetime, I've witnessed incredible technological advancements that have undeniably improved my quality of life. Yet, this creates a dilemma: should we turn a blind eye to potential risks and relish these conveniences? Can we accept science as mere proclamations? After much contemplation, I decided to remove my Apple Watch. Now, my wrist feels strangely bare without it.
Chapter 2: The Cost of Convenience
The second video explores the complex relationship many have with the Apple Watch, discussing its undeniable benefits and the underlying health concerns. As users, we grapple with our love for the technology while being aware of its potential impact on our well-being.
